QUICK & EASY HOMEMADE PIZZA IDEA for DINNER

Everyone knows they can buy dough from their local grocer and snag some pizza toppings for a dinner idea, but what about a pizza idea that's easier, quicker and works as the perfect leftovers for tomorrow's breakfast, well I've got you covered!

One thing I loved about my mom was her knack to make something out of nothing. She loved super quick, easy meals that kept us feeling full and satisfied. One of those meals was breakfast pizza. Not only is this a great and delicious idea on its own, but with everyone being back in school, football season upon us and people busier than ever, a twist on my mom's breakfast pizza is the perfect meal to keep stomachs and hearts full, plus it gives me a chance to turn a childhood favorite into an everyday staple, just like Pioneer, who has been turning meals into memories since 1871.

Plus, for many, this is a show stopper! Switching out a loaf for dough is a HUGE HIT, at least in my circle! So many of us have local bakeries we can support and indulge in, while using ingredients that give us those comfort food feels like Pioneer's Country Gravy Mix. BELIEVE ME it's hard to say NO to this recipe.

INGREDIENTS NEEDED FOR AN EASY BREAKFAST LOAF PIZZA:

  • 1 Loaf - I personally love a French Loaf or Large Baguette

  • 1 Packet of Pioneer's Country Gravy Mix (Find out where to buy yours here.)

  • 1 Pack of Plant-Based Grounds

  • 1/2 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

  • 1/2 cup Shredded Mexican Style Mix Cheese

  • Fresh Roughly Chopped Basil

  • Chopped Red Pepper

  • Chopped Green Onions

  • Red Pepper Flakes (Optional)

  • Everything Bagel Seasoning (Optional)

  • 1 Egg

  • Salt & Pepper

CAN I USE GROUND BEEF INSTEAD OF PLANT BASED GROUNDS?

Absolutely! I am quite the flexitarian and I try to cut out meat here and there, but it's hard to say no to ribs, LOL! What I love about this recipe, is everything can be substituted for the most part, choose your veggies and toppings, even your cheeses! The gravy and grounds are the staples, so if you want to use ground turkey or beef, please do! Feel free to also cook your egg how you like! I just love a sunny side up egg and how gorgeous it looks and taste!

EASY BREAKFAST LOAF PIZZA

PREP TIME: 15 Minutes COOK TIME: 10 Minutes TOTAL: 25 Minutes

INSTRUCTIONS 1. Set your oven to 400° degrees. 2. You'll want to toast your loaf for about 10 minutes - either adding a tad of olive oil or butter of course. 3. While your loaf is toasting, chop a small handful of basil, green onions, roughly, 1/4 of a red pepper, and measure out about a handful of Mozzarella Shredded Cheese and another handful of Mexican Style Shredded Cheese. You can use the full half cup or less, I like to combine two and use a half cup of the combined, but go as cheesy as you would like! (Set aside) 4. Warm up Plant Based Grounds/Add Salt & Pepper to taste (For those using ground beef this may take 5 to 10 minutes longer) 5. Prepare you gravy mix as instructed on the package 6. Once your bread is toasted, gravy thickened and grounds warm, start layering 7. Spread a generous layer of gravy to the loaf, add grounds on top, start coating with cheese, basil, green onions and pepper. Add Red Pepper Flakes and Everything Bagel Seasoning as desired 8. Place back in oven on boil for 5 to 7 minutes or less (I like my cheese crispy) 9. Add additional toppings as desired! 10. AND ENJOY or If you're like me and like adding a finishing touch, cook an egg sunny side up and set on top. A great additional to an already delicious meal.

There's nothing like creating a quick meal that has layers of flavor and is a classic. I know I keep coming back to this recipe, trying different variations and toppings, it's a staple in my house. I also love that Pioneer's Gravy options are classic and versatile! I can't wait to try more recipes using their gravy!
